What is CarSiFer?

CarSiFer tackles two current challenges of the manufacturing industry: dependence on metallic ores imports AND disposal of industrial waste with metallic content.

Our project is based on previous work of our partners Revatech and Eco’Ring who have developed a process for the production of raw materials for foundries from waste containing carbon, silicon and metals. Within this project, we are aiming to overcome remaining technical challenges and to demonstrate this concept on an industrial scale with a wider range of wastes.

Our Aim

This new recycling plant will bring a twofold advantage by providing the European metallurgy sector with a better solution to waste management AND by supplying new raw material to its members. It will create jobs all along the value chain, starting with the construction and the operation of the plant.

Partners

Revatech together with Eco´Ring initiated this CarSiFer project. With CRM Group, who is expert in the metallurgy sector, and with Fraunhofer IGB, who is experienced in physical process technologies, the consortium has all technical and commercial competences to bring the CarSiFer concept to full market readiness within the next five years.
